Hey guys,

so in a facebook group I saw a lot of pzople using those let's say dynamic wallpaper using a thing found on steam called "wallpaper engine". Now my question is this worth my money? And, is there any similar better/similar program that is free to use?

... It costs €4? How cheap can you get if thats not worth money? Personally I rather not have background resources hog'd by that. I'm just fine with changing both screens wallpaper every hour from 50 image folder .

I bought this yesterday.

Its GREAT.

Runs, can be paused at any time manually..Finding non-anime is more time consuming as there is so much to filter through. (But in 1 hour, I had over 30 scenes+ selected to be downloaded)

Does not interrupt gameplay as it pauses when you open games, and unpauses when you come back.

Maximize a Window/Run Fullscreen apps and it pauses. (You can set this up multiple ways, but default is perfect)

Can have 10-60FPS scenes (Setup options has a slider 10-60fps, some scenes are FPSpreset to whatever creator stated)

When it runs - My GTX970 still declocks all the way down to under 300/300mhz and uses 3-10% usage at THOSE lower clocks. (Less on higher clocks)

Can MUTE audio thats included if need be, and change playback speed.

Setting up playlists is easy, deleting and adding scenes is easy. (Workshop)

MY ONLY GRIPE

Having to open steam first, JUST to run this on startup... so there is some time where your wallpaper engine isn't running on startup until steam loads.

UPDATED EDIT - FYI - You don't have to run it via STEAM at all, even if downloaded by Steam.

I just navigated to the SteamApps folder and found WallpaperEngine and started it manually from the EXE file.

So you CAN add it to startup without waiting for Steam.

And yeah, $4 dollars..... can't really go wrong if it works well, which it does.
Needs some features... (like resizing thumbnails displayed and some UI options like that)

But I love it so far.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Since its Early Access, that might be one thing they do add in future. Like DisplayFusion which I use to change wallpapers. Its through Steam but loads individually, updates without having to open Steam etc.

And I just read your update while writing this.
