I'm updating my pc slowly over the course of this year.

Overall Goals:

Make a silent beast of a computer that is less painful to look at (black and white) and very reflective in order to allow dynamic build colors.

Original build from April 2016:

Here are a couple of things I've done so far:

  • Wrapped the cables in electrical tape because I thought it might be a tad less ugly.
  • Added NZXT Hue+. It doesn't really look that great right now, but when I complete the white build being able to choose any system color I want will be nice.
  • Removed all but two of the hard drives. (850 pro and 950 pro are still there)
  • Added two new fans to the bottom of the chassis to provide more airflow for my GPU's. - Even though the Matrix has an amazingly large HS and good fans they aren't meant to run in SLI so the temps get really hot when I'm running them at the 1480mhz oc. (84c with fans at 100%) The new fans brought the temps down a few degrees while also decreasing the gpu fan speed to 40%.

Here is the current build: Sorry for the terrible lighting.(Both sun and rgb)

This week I'm adding all of this to the build:

  • An internal usb hub. I have a Ramage V Extreme mobo, and unfortunately it only has 2 usb 2.0 fan hubs in it. (1 if you want to use the oc panel) I need at least 3 for my current set up so yeah.
  • I chose to go with EVGA cables instead of the cablemod version because they aren't currently in stock on Amazon and I'm an impatient man.  Also I like supporting EVGA because they have never let me down when I buy from them.
  • The fan controller is mostly an aesthetic thing, but I also like to be able to control my fans without using software on the fly.
  • Diagonal cutters to make it easier to cut out all the hundreds of zip ties I've used in cable management earlier.

Later this year:

I have a ton of stuff planned for the year on my build.

  • Upgrade to 1080Ti - I'm hoping the rumors about the trade up program are true, and if they aren't I'll be unloading my matrix's for pretty cheap so be on the lookout for that.
  • Custom Water Cooling Loop(Hard tubing) - This will happen shortly after switching over to the 1080Ti.
  • If the rumor holds true and x299 is coming out in 2017 I will be moving to that, provided it doesn't suck. If it sucks, or if it isn't projected to come out anytime soon after 2017 I will be switching to a white/silver motherboard. (Probably MSI Titanium series.)

Questions:

I want better fans, the corsair silents are not at all silent. However, they are very much less ugly than the noctua fans. Can any of you recommend good w/c fans?

I would love to have a psu shroud, how much would it cost me to get a custom one made and where do I go to do it?

Thanks guys.

Look at getting a S340 Elite or Corsair 460x if you want a better case, everything else looks fine but the PSU cables (and you already have those on order).

What's wrong with the cabels if you don't mind me asking? Or did you mean the old ones.

Got the cables installed today. I'll probably get some combs when I get a new graphics card.
