WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR Windows 8

Go to solution Solved by brokenhips,

Fixed,

Bypassed the new 6gbs Sata board from corsair and have now installed the software .. looks like an RMA in the cards

Need some advice if possible please.

I have a new Asus Maximus Vi MB (z87), with a New I5 4670K CPU (Haswell), New Asus 7970 GPU

16GB RAM - 4x4 sticks @ 1600Mhz

Installed into an existing case with a corsair HX850 power supply and ASUS DVD player.

I have changed the SATA II board on the case to SATA 6GB/S (Corsair 800D)

Plugging back in the original disks and trying to reinstall Windows 8 from fresh.

I am continually getting a WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR screen on Windows Install.

I can boot to UEFI happily and all hardware is recognised. Windows installs the files, and on the first reboot fails with the above error.

I have tried all three drives and have the same issue (all Sata II) . A new Sata III drive arrives tomorrow.

Wondering if anyone has a clue as to what could be the issue?

Thanks in advance

Uncorrectable error, in W8 that's fatal hardware error ... Hmm, try a new drive? See if you get the same error, I think a process of elimination is the best thing here.

EDIT: Before that, try disabling Intel C-State, there was someone who got this same error due to C-State being enabled, he disabled it and the problem went away.
