Windows media creation tool

Go to solution Solved by Justinas,

I fixed it, just made more room in hard drive and it gave selection screen where I need to chose iso or usb flash drive

I need to create bootable flash drive so i can install windows on new pc, but when i run media creation tool it doesn't let me choose where i want to install it, it's dowloading straith to hard drive and ignores flash drive. I tried it several times and it does same, ignores flash drive...

What can i do to install windows on flash drive without installing it in hard drive?

The flash drive needs to be at least 4 GB. That could be one reason the MCT is skipping straight to ISO

That's unusual. Try a different PC maybe? Or use USB2.0 port instead of a 3.0. Which version of Windows are you trying to create? Windows 7 might be problematic.

It's only pc I have and other one is new without os im using usb 2.0 becouse my pc is old and only has 2.0 and im trying to create windows 10

Hi,

try formatting the USB drive. I think FAT32 is the recommended file system for when you create a bootable USB, but don't quote me on that - verify on Microsoft's instructions page.

Is it a Sandisk USB drive by any chance? Apparently there's an issue with those. Czech out this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows10/comments/3ly196/windows_media_creation_tool_doesnt_recognize_my/
