RAM issue.

I have tried everything I possibly know and am now resorting here.

 

Issue: I want to upgrade from my 8GB to 16GB 4 slots. My RAM is all the same, make, model, hz etc. When I put 4 sticks in my computer boots up but into a black "No signal" screen. Boots normally on 2 slots single channel.

 

Things I have done;

 

Used jumper

Taken out CMOS battery for a whole 10 minutes

Taken out CPU put it back in; also cleaned some thermal paste and put new on.

Updated BIOS to latest

(Forgot to add this) I have tried every single ram 1 at a time and still no luck

 

Motherboard in use: MAXIMUS VI HERO

Have you tried individual sticks one at a time to see if any of your RAM might be faulty? As in only put one stick in, reboot, use another stick in same slot, reboot, etc.

a faulty ram stick could stop your computer from booting. Are you sure the ram sticks all work fine? Check this by using the two new ones only and booting your pc like this.

Hmm... Have you tried disabling XMP?

It's set as AUTO so I guess XMP is not enabled.

It probably isn't, but you could try setting it to disabled just in case (assuming there is a disabled option).

Try manual. It probably won't do anything but you might as well try. Then put in 4 sticks of ram.

Hmph. That's really strange. Have you tried putting two sticks or RAM in different slots? Perhaps one of you're slots is faulty. I'm assuming slots 0 and 1 are one channel and channels 2 and 3 so you could try putting RAM in slots 0 and 2 and then try putting RAM in slots 1 and 3 and see if it works for both.

1+3 no boot.

1+4 no boot.

2+3 no boot.

2+4 no boot.

Now that's weird...

 

Have you tried plugging a speaker or headphones into your motherboard to listen for beep codes when you have four sticks in? Or plug your monitor into your motherboard instead of your GPU?
