HI

So im thinking of getting a new gaming headset since my cloud 2's are dead and am looking at the arctis 5's by steelseries.I was wondering does anyone have them and if so could you let me know what you think of them before i buy them thanks.

I tried them on for sometime, the sound sig is similar to TAD300 but closed version, one of the better headset from Steelseries but still inferior to the clouds.

Same as the cloud line, arctis 3 - 5 - 7 have the same sound sig with differences in the way they are plugged into the source.

3 - analog

5 - usb

7 - wireless

i knew most of that but what i want is a headset i can use for like 4 years and has a good mic, good sound, a replaceable cable to make it last longer and one that is very comfortable even with glasses.

I purchased a few Steelseries headsets for my brother over the years. Every time it was the hideaway mic that caused him trouble, and led him to want to replace it. It seems that those hideaway mics have a tendency of clipping the cable inside or something. I haven't bought a pair in about 5 years or so because I finally convinced him to buy some headphones with a detachable mic.

For about $100, maybe you can grab something like the Status Audio CB-1 and the V-MODA Boompro mic.

Or if you really want to have a headset, Sennheiser has the GAME ONE and GAME ZERO with removable cables. They typically go on sale for about $130.

If you want something to use for that long, i would suggest a proper headphone and a separate mic (can be lavalier, modmic or a standalone mic) :D

$100 - SHP9500/HD558 + V-moda boompro, great gaming combo.

Ah ic, if you really want a gaming headsets, my recommendation will go:

Hyperx Cloud (core - 1) - SS Arctis - Logitech. Most left being the best. Logitech headsets are kinda meh, Cloud core is much better :P
