6700k & Asus MAXIMUS 8 Hero overclocking issues

Hello guys, i've overclocked my 6700k by increasing the ratio from 40 to 46. In windows when i run CPU-Z it shows me that the max ratio is 46 and when i run stress test my CPU is working on 4600 MHz, but in BIOS on the right side panel the numbers are still like the stock ones. I have updated my BIOS to the latest one but didn't get any changes. It's my first overclocking experience and i am a bit confused.

Does anyone knows what is this and how to fix it? Is it a big problem or that's how it should be?

That's normal. The Core Speed and Multiplier is what you want to look at.

That's the main point, it's not changing in the BIOS after overclocking, but in the same time in windows the overclocking pops up

Could you possibly send a picture of what it looks like in the BIOS? It should be running at 4.6 if CPU-Z shows it.

As you can see on the right side the speeds of CPU are stock ones, but on the top in target section it's hardly visible but it sais 4600 MHz, allthough the RAM shows the changes on the right side

I have the same board and a 6600k and pretty sure mine shows the same, it doesn't look like its actually done anything but looking at CAM and CPU-Z I can see maximum clock speed of around 4.6 Ghz

Same here with a Z170-A and a 6700k. BIOS says target frequency 4000Mhz, but it actually is at 4600Mhz

How bizarre, I thought it was just a weird bug with my board and ignored it

so everyone has this problem on ASUS Z170 chipset boards? i took a few more pictures closer (my phone is not my pride) and you can see if your boards have the same problem

yeah seems we do, pretty sure mine looks very similiar to that (45 or 46 in each one, sync all cores etc) from what I can remember, I can confirm when I get home if you like.
But CAM tells me I hit 4.6GHz at full load

This answer was like a punch in the balls, and the "bottom" line was: don't  overclock your system, even if we name our board "overclocker's choice" and we gave it LN2 mode, it's just an office board :D

But their literal selling points for these boards are "easy overclocking" -_-

wankers :P
