Is anyone else in the same boat as I am. Over the years, I have been running WHS and WHS 2011. The last time I set things up, I loaded Win 10 on to the server tower. As this machine ages, I am starting to move file serving to a local PC. Once a new desktop PC arrives, I will only use the server as a backup location for the system drives of a few machines. Planning to move all file serving duties and backup duties to the new desktop. Made sure to get a case with plenty of HDD slots.

Anyone else?

No. I use Windows primarily because of Adobe support. I use Lightroom and Photoshop every day and I'm not a fan of the alternatives. That being said I don't trust my data on local NTFS. So I store everything on my FreeNAS server with snapshots. Then back that up to my Synology which backs up to ACD. This way I'm protected from corruption/bit-rot as well as malware/ransomware.
