Hi,

definitely first of all BACK UP ALL YOUR DATA ON THAT DRIVE. Second of all, for how long do you have that drive? The power on hours seem quite low.

You could try formatting the drive once your data is safe, to see if that helps. I'll link a thread where @Boogieman_WD had some suggestions for another drive issue.

The drive has been used since July of 2016 and my biggest concern is that it only has 1691 hours as you suggested, it shouldn't be this bad, what's your opinion about that?

It really shouldn't have this many uncorrectable sectors. I'd really like @Boogieman_WD's opinion on this, but depending on warranty terms in your country, you should be able to RMA the drive.

Hi guys.

Unfortunately, @vojta.pokorny is right and the drive seems to be faulty. :(

@xXDrackleroXx, sorry you have to go through that, but the best course of action would be to RMA it. You could give it a go with DLG's quick and extended tests, just to double-check if you want to, but I'd definitely suggest that you contact our customer support, or the vendor you got it from and get it replaced.
Those bad sectors might not seem like a very high number now, but chances are that it's going to increase with time (as it always happens when bad sectors start to accumulate) until the drive fails.
Here's a link to our CS portal if you decide to RMA it through WD: WD Support Portal.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the help, I've returned the drive and save most of my information, couldn't make a system image in windows 10 due to bad sectors (that's a bummer) but most of my stuff is fine.

I have an external HDD which is much worst than the one I started this topic, here is all the information. I'm currently trying to re-map those sectors to good ones using arch Linux, these are the commands I'm using. Any suggestions?
