So long story short i picked up a new laptop, decided to take the ssd out of my gaming system and put it in my laptop and the hdd from my laptop into my gaming system. reinstalled windows on both and the laptop seems to be working fine and faster (as expected, i did this swap as i use my laptop for collage most of the week and need the faster boot times. also dont have the money to buy another ssd at the moment).

basically when im playing game (mostly does this in gta v) it will run fine for the first 10-15 mins then i will have frame drops. sometimes small drops about 3-4 fps drops and some times it will just freeze for a second. i also have this audio stutter from games (again only aftere about 10-15 mins) and using the spotify web app i can hear faint clipping. i have only had these problems since upgrading to the newest copy of windows and swapping out the ssd to the hdd.

my system specs

i5 4690k @4.2 ghz (the oc is stable, been using it for a fair few months now)

gtx 1070 from gigabyte

gigabyte z97x mother bored

8gb of ddr3 @1866

1tb dw blue 5200 rpm (the drive i pulled out my laptop)

1tb dw blue 7200 rpm (my steam library)

600w psu

my temps have always been ok generally about 50-55c on the cpu and about 60-65 c on the gpu
