linux cd command not working

I attatched a snippet of the error below.  Basically I am in a folder and I use "ls" to check the name of the next folder I want to enter.  It is clearly there, but when I use CD to get to it, it says "Not a directory".

What is happening?

it's not lying to you, it's not a directory. probably a text file or some config file.

 

you can try to look at it using nano, ie: nano hostapd. Then you'll see if it is.

Additionally, there is the cat and more commands that just print out the contents of the file to the screen.

or just use ls -l next time lol
