I've checked in Core Temp and Hardware Monitor and it's doing the same thing. At idle it will be 16-19 degrees, then suddenly jump to 36-40, then back down again (system is doing nothing, just in desktop), and keeps doing it on all the cores randomly, but they never do it unison, it's just one or two at a time, very erratic. The min/max for all cores are within 2 degrees of each other.

It's a 6700K (not OC'd yet) with EK Supremacy block and TG Kryonaut. My only thought was block not being tightened down enough. Thoughts?

System: Ryzen 7 5800X - Gigabyte X570 Aorus Master - Noctua D15S Chromax - 32GB 3600 RAM - EVGA Black 2080Ti

16-19c has got to be wrong, your room would have to be well below those temp itself its pretty much impossible for your system to be below room temp pretty much you'd be looking at more like 25-30 at idle. unless your using some other form of exotic cooling.

Well yes, that is on a fresh boot... settles in around low 20's, but it is only 9 degrees here outside. I only have CPU in loop, single 280mm rad. The spikes are odd though... literally doubling almost then straight back down again, bouncing around like a yo-yo!

Basically your cpu will be a few degree higher then your room temp, so unless its 9c degrees in your room it doesn't matter what the temp is outside.  36-40c does seem a little high for a non-oced cpu underwater though. I'd make sure your backplate is on properly and that your cpu block is on properly. I have EKWB Supremacy EVO and overclocked my cpu would be around 27-30c at idle when it was fresh.

I don't see the issue. Every CPU is gonna do that.

I don't recall seeing it before like this... little spikes yes, but it's more than doubling, which struck me as odd.

Can't compare it to how it was on air. I see it every day on both of my rigs. Can't be concerened with those speratic numbers.
