Considering what he's buying, a g-sync monitor is way out of his budget. An rx 470 would be a better choice. As well, I don't think an 8300 would bottleneck a 1050 ti.

Gsync monitors are waaaay to expensive. And freesync should be able to run with Geforce gpus even tho its an AMD software..

If you're getting a FreeSync monitor and want to use that feature, you'll need an AMD video card.

That CPU is a for sure upgrade, but I would honestly hold out until you can afford something better. It's a waste of money in my opinion when you could have way more performance even on a modern Intel i3.

MOBO cant run Intel cpus. And cba with getting a new one -.-

Are you sure about Freesync? Been getting mixed info on that.

You can get a new motherboard :)

And yes, I am 100% sure FreeSync will not work on an Nvidia video card.

I could. But I'd have to get new RAM aswell then. Since I have DDR3. And I dont think its worth it to get an i3 or i5. Think I'll be content with the FX 8300 :)

Sucks that Gsync is so much more expensive in a monitor than FreeSync.

144Hz is nice out of my price range. Since im not rly into fps games other than LoL and Overwatch, i'll be finde with 60hz.

Im not gonna spend more than 500 euro ish.

Been reading about freesync - it should be able to run with a Geforce gpu as far as i've read..?

Partially. But RX 470 is not that expensive

No, you can't use freesync on Nvidia GPUs. Even though it's based on adaptive sync which is open source, Nvidia decided not to support (most likely because it would drive consumers away from g sync monitors, which Nvidia makes some profit off of). I recommend you get an rx 470 and keep that monitor, as an rx 470 is way more powerful than a 1050 ti while not costing much more (it has way better perf/$), plus you get the added benefit of freesync with it.

RX 470 is 40 euro more than 1050ti atm. Is it rly worth it?

I mean would it be much better than say a 60hz monitor without Freesync and a GTX 1050ti?

Definitely. In more neutral games that are better for AMD or Nvidia the rx 470 tends to be 30-40% faster, while in more Nvidia titles it's still 15-25% faster. And freesync can make a huge difference, as you don't have to deal with screen tearing or stuttering. I'll admit, 40 euros is a little bigger of a difference than usual, so you might want to go hunting a little to see if there are some cheaper ones (as long as they're aftermarket cooled cards and aren't gigabyte cards) but if it was up to me if the difference was €40 I'd still go for it.

Whats wrong with Gigabyte cards`?

Considering RX 460 (4 GB OC edition) as an alternative. It's almost half the price of the RX 470 atm (4GB).

Think it'll cover my needs and be good enough for a few years. As said I'm not gonna be into high end games and ultra settings anyway.

What do you think about this?

Fair enough, the performance is also around half and the only game you play a 460 might struggle with is gta.

The gigabyte AMD cards this gen aren't that great... They tend to have high temps (above 80C) under load. Something like a sapphire, xfx, or MSI card would be better. If you want more info you can check out this video.

So it comes down to this now:

AOC G2460VQ6 with FreeSync

With either : GTX 1050 ti 4GB

Or: Radeon RX 460 4 GB

Question is if its better with the inferior Rx 460 for the FreeSync, og just screw the FreeSync and go with 1050 ti?

I'm assuming the 1050 ti is more expensive, so I'd definitely say rx 460. While it does perform worse, freesync can really help improve the experience a lot. Rx 460 for sure.

Price on RX 460 and 1050 ti is more or less the same. Will FreeSync still weight heigher than the better performance from 1050 ti?

IMO, I'd rather have freesync than higher fps unless the fps is greater than the monitors refresh rate. Since a 1050 ti shouldn't be able to push more than 60 fps in gta at ultra, I'd say 460 since lower fps is way better than tearing or stuttering.
