Hello,

The last couple of months my pc started to act weird, it cuts the sound and then freezes and loops the sound in a cracking way, it also crashes after some time giving me a BSOD with error messages: Driver irql not less or equal (nvlddmkm) and dpc watchdog violation, this mainly happens when i start to play a game, but this also happens randomly when browsing the internet, i even need to write this using my phone because in the time i write this down it crashes again. Ive recently formatted and reinstalled all my drive and windows 10 (before that these problems where already there). I ran memtest that gave me no errors i also used prime95 to stress test my cpu wich worked just fine and i also used furmark to stress test my gpu (wich i think is the problem). I got an intel 3770k, gigabyte z77 d3h motherboard, 16gb ddr3 kingston hyperx ram and a msi gtx780 lightning gpu, any way i can find out what hardware is causing this ?

Thank you!

Try going back to a previous driver, one that you know was stable before the problem started for your system

Thank you for the responds, i already tried this, the problems started a while ago aswell. i'm pretty sure my gpu is just dying but before buying a new one i want to be 100% that these errors could in fact be because of the GPU.

I tried following things:

Formatted all drives

Reinstalled windows

deleted all old drivers

updated all drivers to the new ones

checked hardwaremonitor incase of heat issues (temperatures where around 30 degrees idle and around 60-70 when used)

Performance tab in taskmanager shows normal activity

First off: What OS are you running?

The DPC watchdog indicates that this is indeed driver related since it's its main job to monitor, so you can probably rule any other speculation of dying hardware, out for now.

Try unplugging things. Things like external drives, a printer, gaming pheriperals, toasters blenders passenger Jet Planes or any other USB attached devices. That especially includes WLAN USB Adapters.

Another thing to try if that does not assist at all is to run the machine in safe mode, and see if the problem persists. Safe mode loads minimum services and drivers to rule them out for easier troubleshooting. If that mode is stable, then check the system log file in the Event Log under the "Windows Logs" tab and sort for Errors, you might just find the .dll, .ini, .inf or just the service that is causing the problem.

If you use external devices as I mentioned above, the risk is very high they are involved in the demonic possessions of your machine.
