DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Speakers: Genelec 8040, System Audio SA205

I think I had the same Logitech speakers (and the attached subwoofer). Didn't liked either, it's taking dust somewhere. Now I use the Creative T10, a little better but I wouldn't recommand it either, unless you're limited to 40$ or less.

What I would actually recommand :

- Bose Companion 2, probably my next speaker set. No subwoofer, only 2.0. 100$

- Harman/Kardon Soundsticks. good design, but not for everyone, 150$

- Logitech Z906 if you want 5.1, 250$

- Something from M-Audio or Edifier if you want monitoring speakers.

- Focal XS if unlimited budget

a subwoofer does not mean that there is more bass.... The subwoofer you get with these cheap 2.1 kits aren't really subwoofers

I would recommend looking used, if you don't want used, then if you can fit these Edifier R1280T, then I think they would be pretty good

Sorry, started writing before I saw the budget.

I maintain my recommandation for the Bose Companion 2, as if you use a subwoofer behind the monitor you won't see any difference (and Bose 2.0 systems compensate the bass of the missing subwoofer)

Also, a bit over-budget but maybe the Logitech Z623 as they are THX-certified ?

There not that much good speakers for PC, especially under 110$. Most people use either headphones, bluetooth portable speakers or dedicated home cinema systems with Amps, A/V receivers...
The only high-end market for PC speakers is monitoring speakers for music creation professionals or audiophiles who want pure sound, but they are bigger and more expensive. And high standard PC enthousiasts will either use headphones or monitoring speakers.

well the edifier speakers I suggested will have more bass, but I do think that you should give the used marked a look, since you often can find hidden gems.
