Complicated audio problem. Help!

greaves1111

I'm even having a problem properly titling this thread. It's a bit complicated for someone who isn't much of an audio person. I'm hoping someone here can help

Here's the situation:
I want to stream xbox one gameplay through a capture card to twitch, which I already have working. I also want to have chat and game audio ran though my wireless headset, steelseries h800. I also have that working

The problem is I'm unable to get audio/mic working on the actual stream. Does anyone know how to patch audio from the headset into the computer so audio/mic will capture on the live stream?

sounds like you need a mixer that takes your game audio and mic and then spits it out to a splitter to go to your headset and capture card.

I'm completely guessing.

Are you using the head set on the Xbox or on the pc?

As far As I know there is now way to patch two signals into one headset without some sort of pc based software solution.

What is your headset plugged into? If you have it plugged into the Xbox, you should be getting all audio (including chat) from the Xbox, to the capture card and to your PC/whatever is streaming to Twitch.

Both. The headset is wireless and has a transmitter box that sits on the desk with an input for optical audio, which runs to the xbox, and USB, which runs to the PC. I can use switch between USB (PC) and Optical (Xbox) depending on which I'm using at the time. Thanks for the reply.

I think the problem is that since the Xbox is setup to use optical audio out, I am only getting audio through the headset, but the capture card isn't picking anything up. Like I said, I'm pretty green to getting all this stuff to work together.

I would love a mixer board, but I think that might be overkill because I'm not a partnered or a podcaster or anything. I just like to stream and mess around with it, have fun with friends.

Maybe there isn't a solution! I appreciate everyone's help/feedback :)

Maybe send the sound through the hdmi and use the headset on the pc. You can set the pc to send the capture card audio through the pc output to your headset. this will stop the xbox from having a mic but it should resolve the other issues.
