The most you'll need is a BIOS update. They're the same socket and most LGA1151 boards should support your CPU out of the box.

You need a BIOS update if you already have it. What else do you have? If you already have a Skylake CPU you can update it no problem

 

What motherboard btw?

Yeah, 7th gen will only be supported if the mobo gets a BIOS update
