New Website

Hey everyone, I want to make a Website for my personal repair and build company, I haven't made a website since the late 90's so my skills are out of touch. I was checking on this Wordpress thing and how you can just add themes and then modify on them. Anyone recommend a good Tech related Theme I could use that's good? Thanks for the comments!

You mean, the easy to use...I forgot the rest of what Linus says haha. I got a hosting and a domain with Wordpress on it already.

I'm not sure if you are required to use their hosting services or not... they have listings for both websites AND domains.

They design the templates, you supply the content. Wordpress might be free... but you get what you pay for. If you want to be taken seriously, you need a seriously good looking website. The same can be said about ANY of your advertising. From my casual experience with their templates, they are nothing short of wow.

 

wordpress websites (or wordpress-like websites) make me feel as though the owner is a cheap ass, and it lowers my expectations of their product or services considerably. But even if i see a website the is jaw dropping, and then i see some MS paint images on their facebook pages, or photos of newspaper ads are just SUUUUPER lame... i will know they are not trying very damn hard.

I don't believe they HOST your website. (which is to say, they don't provide HDD space on their own servers). They provide a website template for you to customize with your own content and SHOULD YOU NEED IT, Domain services (which turns 44.156.12.4 into joescomputersnmore.com)
