My wifi adapter not using wifi's full speed

Guguskis
Go to solution Solved by iRileyx,

Does it have the correct/up to date drivers installed?

It could just be a faulty adapter.

I have TP-LINK Wireless USB Adapter and 1 MB/s internet connection. My smartphone and ethernet works properly (speed tests reach 1 MB/s speeds), but wifi adapter shows the average 500 KB/s speed, sometimes it completely stops loading YT videos (Resource Monitor then shows 0 Kbps Network Activity). I tried plugging it in to all other USB ports, but in every port except one I superbly slow 50KB/s wifi speed. I had one adapter before which was working properly, but I broke it. Anyone knows the reason why I can't have stable 1 MB/s connection with my wifi adapter?

The only software I got for adapter was when I plugged it in.I am going to check for drivers online if that's the problem

It's wifi, be glad it connects at all #wiredmasterrace

Try to contact TP-Link about the issue, maybe RMA it.

Apparently it was driver issue. I searched for required driver and reinstalled it. Currently wifi adapter great! I thought I knew some things about computers... apparently not :)
