Does audio protection make a difference?

Go to solution Solved by Xdrone,

Nvm found out that mobo is EMI-shielded thanks anyway!

On most high end mobos, I see a metal plate over the built-in audio processor.

Apparently this blocks noise from surrounding parts that affect sound quality. I want to know, If using high end headphones, will a motherboard with no protection have noticeable differences in sound quality compared to a mobo that does? Don't really want to give up the motherboard I think is perfect for my build just because of this.

thankyou.

One of the first things I think you will notice with poor onboard audio is if you turn up the volume to max with nothing playing, it is still silent or do you hear a hiss/static?

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

The audio processor is high quality, just that it doesn't have protection... will this still occur even if the signal/noise ratio is good?
