I downloaded an android 5.1.1 rom for my samsung galaxy nexus 4 so i could use it as a mp4/mp3 player - i now want to use my old huawei ascend p6 as a testbench for some apps my company is developing so i can work at home - unfortunately, the p6 is running android 4.4, is it possible to use the cyanogen mod i got for my samsung nexus on my huawei p6? or would i have to download a p6 specific rom?

Afaik Its not possible.. u have to download the specific rom.

all u need is to upgrade your firmware if its still possible.

...

Edit: my bad - the phone is stuck on 4.4.2 - can't be upgraded to anything higher - and it has a chinese emotion ui which isn't nice and blocks a lot of western stuff - i just want a clean android rom

U want to upgrade ur p6 to 5.1.1 right?

If someone actually made that firmware for ur phone whether its custom or official then its possible..thats what i meant to say

i've been looking and there is one for 5.0 - but i specifically want 5.1.1 because it's the better version

You can find a custom rom on needrom if there's one but u'ill need a clockwordmod or twrp to install it.

and if u are not familiar with it then u have to read the tutorial carefully u may hard bricked ur phone.

i've installed custom roms before - i was just asking the forum about common places to find one

http://www.needrom.com/download/cyanogenmod-13-15/

im looking at the cyanogenmod 13 - but it does not list the specific build for each device - just the download for the rom
