US Keyboard layout vs UK layout difference?

Hi,

So I have been looking for the Asus Claymore full keyboard with num pad with the MX Brown Switches however in the UK it is only available in MX Reds I will be using it for gaming mostly so reds might be the better choice I owned a K95 RGB with MX red switches for a year and a half but decided to sell it as I wasn't using the macros and it was just massive because of the 18 macro keys bank on the side, I then bought a K70 Lux in MX Browns but I didn't like the key font and the ALT key broke after a few days must have been a faulty switch or something and whilst I had it briefly for a few days I enjoyed the typing experience on the keyboard a bit more than the reds. I found a shop in Europe that ships to the UK called Alternate but the Keyboard is US layout my question is there much of a difference in layout over UK or is it mostly the @ sign and " swapped over and the £ is a $ symbol instead?

I've got a MacBook but i'm not sure what keyboard layout it is, It might be US or it could be another layout it's not UK that's for sure I only use it for web browsing lol it's super old like 2009  it has a small enter key and the $ sign is where the £ sign would normally be

I take it you can still do £ symbols on the US keyboard you just press the Right alt key or something I think on UK we press ALT Gr and it does a Euro sign :/

On a US keyboard the right Alt is identical to the left Alt. That Gr layer does not exist on a US keyboard. You can switch the layout in your computer's settings to make the right alt work as an Alt Gr key if you want to but it does not work that way by default.
