Hi everyone I'm new here.

I'm looking to build my own rig for the first time. My aim is mostly to be able to play games like Overwatch, Battlefield 1, LOL etc.
I already have my peripherals and monitor. The monitor is 60 Hz, 1080p and i dont plan on upgrading it in the near future. That means that i dont plan on gaming at a higher resolution than 1080p.

I live in Denmark and most of the prices are more expensive but a rough budget is around $700-800. I already have the OS so that is not included in the budget.

I dont plan on overclocking or water cooling since this is my first build.

I was planning on a build like this:

CPU: i5 6400

GPU: GTX 1060 3GB

RAM: 1x8GB DDR4

MB: MSI H110M PRO-VD Micro ATX LGA1151 socket

SSD: 128GB

HDD: 1TB

PSU: Corsair VS Series VS550 550watt

This is a very rough outline and I'm not sure of some of the components since the new Kaby Lake i3 outperforming the skylake i5 or something like that.

Also I don't know if the RX 480 would be better since, I've researched and some say Nvidia cards perform better on the games i would like to play while AMD might be better for other games.

As for the case something like fractal design define s would do fine.

I hope this is not too rough or confusing.

Get an RX 480 4GB if the pricing is similar as it performs better in most games after recent drive updates. Also, the PSU you have chosen is incredibly mediocre, a CX450M (grey label) would be much better.

Thanks everyone.

So would a build like this be good?

I'm new at this so I don't know if ill be good at overclocking the CPU so if there is another CPU that would be better please let me know.

Also, if there is any way to make it cheaper, I would love suggestions :)

The motherboard is Z170, which means you would need a previous Skylake CPU to update it.

If you can find it at the same price then yes.

You could save a few hundred kr if you just get a super cheap case. You could also not get the SSD.

alright thanks

what about the GTX 1060 6Gb vs an RX 480 8 GB seems like the RX 480 might be a bit cheaper. would that fit in the build better instead of the GTX 1060?

Just occasionally 80-83 C, minor crashes from time to time. But it's cheaaap

Yeah that's pretty hot compared to my GPU which has a significantly higher TDP (275W). Mine never hits 80C and usually stays around 60-78C. And it's dead silent almost.
