Hi guys, so basically, i put my computer into sleep mode and all is well; then i try to wake it from sleep mode nothing happens. In order to get the computer in working order again, i have to hold down the power button for a few seconds (cut off power etc). After i have cut the power, and have loaded the computer up again, two things happen (depending on operating system):

Windows retains what was in RAM

Linux ubuntu does not retain what was in RAM.

I have tried taking out the hdmi cable in my external gpu to internal gpu to see if anything happens, nothing.

Also once whilst i was trying to fix the issue myself, the pc loaded up from wake as it would, yet again in a "nothing" state; but this time the pc restarted itself. A error screen appear by the bios "Previous Overclock settings have failed, press F1 to change settings etc". This is strange, as i have never overclocked my cpu; however i must say that i have change voltages to default, as my msi board likes to put them alot higher. I have even screwed around with the RAM, i have 4x4 (i know a huge mistake) and have tried many different combinations - and whilst i was doing the experiment; i must say that i found by altering the Ram, sometimes the computer would wake as normal and sometimes it would not. However a certain combination did not the fix the problem 100%, for example once i had only 1 4gb stick, it woke up once correctly, then the next time it did not. When the pc is in a "nothing" state there are no light diagnostic codes, my gpu fans are running, my ssd is running, my fans are running, the motherboard is running, however i cannot tell if the cpu or hard drive are running. Apart from this issue, there are no other major problems. I have tested the ram before using windows ram diagnostic tool and nothing was found; i have also used a tool thats tests longer, no errors. If you guys could please help me i would very much appreciate it, also please excuse my spelling and grammar mistakes; it is very late where i live.

My specs:

Intel 6700k

msi z170a gaming pro

corsair 4x4 ram ( vengeance, 2400 frequency)

1tb western digital black hard drive

intel 750 nvme ssd 400gb

With kind regards
