Sensitivity vs raw dpi

Hey guys iv read on a few sights that it's better to have a high dpi and lower ingame sensitivity 

 

does it mater if I have 400 dpi and 15 sensativety or 800 dpi and 7.5 

 

does having more dpi matter ?

It's completely personal preference, neither is better. Find whatever works for you and use that.

dpi (dots per inch) is an accuracy measurment. 

 

Lets say you have a dpi of 800. That means that for every inch we move the mouse, we are reading 800 dots. lets say that 2400 dots read = a 180 deg turn in game. if we move our mouse 3 inches on 800 dpi, it will complete the 180 degree turn. if we decrease DPI to 400, we now have to move our mouse 6 inches to make the turn. In my experience, its best to have sensitivity low and DPI as high as possible. I use 400 DPI right now, but for some games a higher dpi is need. 400 DPI is still high enough that it will feel smooth. I wouldnt suggest going below 400 though. 

 

tl;dr - it probably wont matter. 800 dpi 7.5 ig is probably better, but whichever feels better is what you should use.

Added you on Overwatch as you requested OP. Anyway, I messed with both settings randomly until I got comfortable with one. I agree it's just a preference thing. A lot of tips say to have low sensitivity and make sure to not rest your mouse hand and float it instead

Ok so a higher dpi and lower sensativety doesn't get more accurate reading or anything ?

Upon a certain treshold depending on Mouse/Sensor/Firmware the opposite is the case.

Iv got a Logitech 502 if that helps
