EA Origin - white screen

So on a laptop I have in the house EA's Origin only shows a white screen when I turn it on.

I have tried reinstalling and I got a white screen there as well!

Running Windows in Safe Mode with Networking finally let me install Origin "normally" but once booted back I got a white screen again.

Tried to install a game while in safe mode (the idea was that origin starts with the system so when you click on a game shortcut it would launch). No luck. Got a error message. 

Anyone have any ideas what the problem might be?
