You prob. will need to upgrade the PSU. And you will also need to make sure it will fit the case, I have had that issue before and it was not fun at all.

Is the optiplex you have the small for factor case? If so its going to be really hard to find a video card that will fit.

Cool, couple things.

Can I take a look at the PSU's side sticker? It should have a bunch of tables in it. Maybe you don't need to change it after all.

What's your budget? We can find you upgrades for pretty much every budget.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

Gotcha. Once you have the computer in hand, come ask here about whether you can run a good GPU off the PSU it comes with. There are pretty great GPUs in the market that don't require any additional connectors, so you could turn that prebuilt into a quite powerful gaming PC.

I would add to it a GTX 1050 Ti ($140, 75W) and 4GB more RAM ($20)

Pretty much any RAM that works is good RAM, you might get good deals if you look around.

If the RAM is not upgradeable, get a single 8GB stick so you can add another later.
