hey guys is want to buy a new monitor but i have a hdmi 2.0 port on my gpu. can i use just a normal hdmi cable to a normal hdmi port?

Yes, that will work fine. Unless you have a 4k monitor that you want to run at 60Hz any cable will do.

HDMI 2.0 (and any other HDMI standard, and DP as well for that matter) is backwards compatible with older standards on the GPU side. it's more so an "up to" so to say :P
