Removing cables from a 24 connector

Matthew Waring

So I'm taking apart an old computer and I possibly want to use a display from it and I believe that it gets its power from the 24 pin connector. Is there anything wrong with taking the cable out and am I alright to put it into my 24 pin connector.

Pictures are the display and power cable

I don't quite understand what you want to do. I can however tell you that VFD's need special circuitry to be driven. Also the color coding in your connector doesn't seem to match the ATX power standard. If you could further explain your intentions, I will gladly help you as much as I can. .

Cheers

All I want to do is take the three cables from the 24 pin connector, plug them into my connector to use on my computer. The PCB that is connected to the display is the only circuitry that is used on on it as the other connection is a usb cable that connects to the motherboard.
