Dell m6600 display issue

My display has been damaged to the point of no return so i'm using the hdmi port on the laptop to use the laptop as my daily driver. Theres one issue though. It works fine on a fresh install of windows, but after I install stuff like Java, silverlight, or anything of the sort. The HDMI monitor shuts off. I'm thinking its a driver issue. Upon reboot I see the windows icon loading then instant black screen. I've tried hitting f8 to auto-switch to secondary monitor, but no luck. Anyone can help? The only fix is a fresh install of windows. Thanks in advance.  

Edit: Upon the screen going black. I hear a sound played that sounds like a usb device or something is being disconnected.

Are you completely and entirely broke? >.>; Because a replacement screen is $60-ish...

I'm purchasing this screen in a couple of days. But I desperately need a this machine.
