Take out the 1080 and try booting with iGPU. See if same thing bappens. Could be possible power issue. Otherwise, my first instinct is to go into Event viewer and look at the report. There should be entries for unexpected shutdown, and hopefully a culprit in the report. Bad driver, or something.

Stupid question. Do you a have an OC in anything?

And so you have another PSU to test?

Nothing is over clocked at this point and  I don't have another psu to use also if I take out the 1080 then I'll have to sit on my PC for a while doing stuff with no gpu I could be sat there for hours

On event viewer this is what it says "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly" so im quite unsure i checked all cables and made sure they are plugged in properly aswell.

Check to make sure all drivers are updated?
