I built an i5 3470 RX 470 build for my friend, but due to outdated bios, the DH61BE Intel board I got him didn't recognize the board. Fine, so I started updating the bios gradually, one version after another to get to the newest. But once I got past v 048, the BIOS stopped booting to my drive. Fine, so I started flashing it directly. i got it one more version up, to v 099, and now every time I try to flash again, it just freezes, or it failed due to a failure in flashing image for Intel Management Engine firmware, failiong due to FW update sample application ERRORsomethingsomething FULLBUFFER, and the flash fails. I tried it a billion times with different BIOS images. I tried booting to any sort of drive and it just freezes, until I fully power cycle the PC.

How do I fix this? Its rather worrying and debilitating to the pc.

i5 6600k and GTX 1070 but I play 1600-900. 1440p BABY!

Still, don't put too much faith in my buying decisions. xD

i dont think you have to update the bios one version at a time until you get to the newest one. just get the newest one.

It works like that for a lot of the bigger updates so you can't just do it all at once

no that's not how it works. just get the newest one and your FINE. everything that's in the old one is already on the newest one.

According to other answers I've seen online, V 048 had some major structuaral differences and could not be skippped. But thats not the issue here.

As for that review, this was the only board I was able to find for 45 bucks on EBay. My first board from them had a RAM slot issue. I think this might be my fault somehow thoough. Maybe it got corrupted... But then, would it even turn on?

I may be able to transfer the chip from the other board, but IDK how to remove it without breaking things.

sorry i was wrong to assume the bios update should be easy. now that i googled "dh61be bios update" doesn't seem like it was worth your $45 with all the trouble.

have you seem this thread? might be of help if you didn't.
