Yes indeed I have, really the only possible slowdown i can think of would be in windows. I think a fresh windows install would solve my problems. In two more months this thread will be obsolete anyways since i'll be getting a new CPU. I think I can endure 2 more months with an awful performing PC ;)

Thanks anyways guys!

The sweet sweet sensation of upgrading a PC...

It's like putting extra cheese on your favourite dish "it makes it taste 100x better!"

One might say, but pairing an R9 Fury with an Athlon X4 845 feels more like i slapped a pile of cheese on a pineapple. It tastes awful... and even hurts a little.

Jokes aside though. I get 30-50 FPS in CS:GO on low 1080p... this can't be it... there must be something wrong... right?...

I mean that's not exactly a great pairing but I do find it hard to believe the CPU would hold you back that badly

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

wait for ryzen or get a i7 system yea badly is an understatement. the fury is close to a 1070 in terms of performance.

Liquid Nitrogen is your answer (never mind that you'd spend ten times more on that than the processor)

I don't see how that would help at all... to me, it seems like the hardware and the experience delivered to not align so there must be something else going on... drivers, monitor not plugged into GPU, etc.

The X4 845 doesn't have integrated graphics ;)

There we go smooth and silky 41 FPS in the menu

Also yes I know Model/Texture Detail is on High, but still this is not the performance i should get

athlon X4; good clock speed, basically 2 floating point cores, only 2mb cache. i have a fx 8120 so i have twice the cores at a slower clock rate, slightly more cache i think, paired with a gtx1060; i get better frame rate at 4k. how much ram you got? have you tried overclocking?

I've got 16GB Corsair Vengance DDR3 RAM.

Also with the Cache thing, my CPU doesn't even have L3 cache where as an AM3/3+ CPU has around 8MB

I thought not... just saying it's a, if not common, at least occasional known cause :P

I know it was but we really should make that clear... there are people who for one reason or another can and do read things like that and take it literally.  I know this for a fact.

I really can't think of what could be causing it but there must be some issue - that hardware should perform better than this.

I've seen those too, that's why I think there HAS TO be something else slowing my PC down.

Btw my Specs:

Athlon X4 845

Gigabyte F2A88X-D3H

Corsair Vengance 1600MHz DDR3 RAM

Sapphire Nitro R9 Fury (1050 MHz)

Corsair CX650M 650W PSU

SanDisk Plus 240GB SSD

Seagate Desktop HDD 1TB

All of that packed into a Fractal Design Define S

Mhhh 850€ spent on this blissful gaming experience ;)

As i said, pineapple and cheese man...

Mark your post as best answer if you truly feel that way so future visitors can just gloss over this.

Also, try clearing your registry with CCleaner.
