Don't waste so much money on an enormous, unnecessarily fast SSD. Put it towards a better power supply, CPU, and GPU instead. Get a smaller SSD and a large HDD.

This build has a better CPU and blows both those GPUs out of the water. It also has a much better power supply.

Compromise a little and you could probably fit in a 1070.

I compromised last time, now my PSU is dead lel

Well done on putting a 1070 though

But you got a terrible power supply! It's hardly comparable to an S12ii.

My compromises-

  • 120GB SSD (still a fast, reliable MLC SSD) + 1TB HDD instead of a 500GB SSD for more storage without giving up on faster boot and launch times.
  • A cheap but good case.
  • The cheapest 8GB stick of DDR4 RAM available.
  • A cheaper H110 motherboard.
  • A Skylake CPU that isn't very far behind the Core i5 7500.

I would not compromise on-

  • The power supply.
  • The amount of storage (anything less than 500GB is just asking for an ordeal).

This is what I was referring to-

No. He needs to get a reliable power supply for his needs. I'd be comfortable putting a Corsair CX430 in an office computer, but I wouldn't put it anywhere near a gaming rig. Also, higher efficiency does not equal quality.

Yuck, 5400 RPM. Was that a mistake?

Also, no front panel USB 3.0 on that motherboard.

Thanks, this makes things a lot easier than trying to figure out the best out of every model when I'm looking for a psu.
