If she uses avast and so do you then that has one built in, you can write down the steps for her to activate it, then she can contact you with the code it gives her you enter it and you're in, if you don't use avast then just pick one of the other free remote desktop programme. I think Google Chrome has a free remote desktop feature never explored it though, that could be a viable option.

Edit: on investigation the Google Chrome option will probably not be an option as it requires the same Google account on both ends http://www.howtogeek.com/142146/how-to-use-google-chrome-to-remotely-access-your-computer/

Teamviewer with an account, set the PC up on the account and set teamviewer to log in on startup, you can then remote access the PC at any time even without her hitting a button, then she can just phone you for help. I used TV to remote access my desktop (due to not being able to portforward for RDP, which I can now do)

Team Viewer is the way to go. Its free if you dont want to set up and account. All you have to do is take a picture of her unique ID and set up a static PW which will make team viewer run in the background on startup.

Funnily enough, I had a TV account, was free and working for many months, still works I believe
