It's time for me to sell my old intel core i7 3770 with it's motherboard, i could afford an msi z270 tomahawk with an intel core i7 7700(non k), or intel core i5 7600k, or maybe skylake intel core i7 6700k in my country the price gap between 7700 and 7700k is too damn high, i use my pc to play games mostly i use it for rendering and video editing only when i had school assignment, which cpu would you recommend?

Ryzen is really close, I'd recommend waiting until then. Even if Ryzen isn't very good, it will at least cause Intel to lower their prices.

I am conducting some polls regarding your opinion of large technology companies. I would appreciate your response.

Microsoft Apple Valve Google Facebook Oculus HTC AMD Intel Nvidia

the 7700k isn't all that worth it, there isn't much of a boost of performance in the 7700k compared to the 6700k. You would be better off with a 6600k or 6700k. 6600k isn't recommended with video rendering. People have said there computers freeze while rendering on a 6600k.

I heard rumors about ryzen being more expensive than kabylake isn't the 8-core one priced at $500?

The i5.

But why? The 7700 is a better choice over a 7600K.

There will be one 8 core for 350 and the more expensive one for 500.

If you happen to have a z87 mobo, you can actually OC your non-k 3770 via multiplier. The max it will go to is 43, and then you can usually bump the base clock to 105 as well. (they locked all this down with Haswell, but Sandy Bridge still allows non-k overclocking)

The 3770 should perform just fine for now and waiting for RYZEN to actually drop would probably be a good idea.

Getting a Skylake/Kaby i7 would increase performance, but IMHO not enough to justify the cost of upgrading mobo+cpu+ram.

When in doubt, re-format.

The value has already fallen quite a bit, even though they perform great.

In my area, a full system (case, cpu, mobo, ram, psu, no gpu) with a 3770 and non-z chipset goes for around $350 Canadian)

When in doubt, re-format.

It won't be more expensive, and you have to remember the 8 core one has 16 threads, and competes against intels $1000 processor. The 4 core 8thread chips should be price competitive with intel
