2010 Macbook Pro restarting, not connecting to internet, acting strange

Hey fellas,

So long story short, my girlfriends older Macbook Pro is becoming unusable. It started with the tracpad operating very sporadic sometimes over the past couple years. Then, more recently it started restarting on its own when doing every day tasks. Then, about a couple weeks ago after upgraded a router, it doesn't want to connect to the network sometimes even though my desktop there does fine. Lastly, the screen would randomly go to sleep when she would put her phone on the laptop next to the tracpad. Anyone got any ideas of what could be going on?

With all these problems, she pretty much just wants to get a new windows laptop. I wouldn't have an issue with it if it weren't that a windows equivalent to a macbook could be pretty pricey.

Any insight at all would be appreciated, thanks.

But a new Macbook Pro would most likely be even pricier.

Get a refurbished XPS 15 with the 960M on eBay for around $1200

I was thinking an xps 15 myself haha. I'd get the model without the GPU though.

And that is why you should not buy an apple product same thing happens to their phones. Their devices are made like that so you have to get a new one after some time.

Huh? Then why does my PowerBook G4 and 2006 MacPro work perfectly after all this time.

@Jerochy Try doing an SMC reset. That fixes a lot of issues.

So the i3-6100H model?  I'd wait for Kaby Lake to come out if you're buying a new one, unless you need it now.
