Overclocking fails

Hi. 2-3 years ago I got my FX 6300, at the time OC wasn't such a big deal but nowadays it is. I kept it at 4.2GHz and something like +0.150 Voltage, not because I didn't want to or it was too hot, but because it didn't allow it to.

I used the auto overclock (from Catalyst Control Center) when I got my Hyper 212 and I tweaked fan positioning in my case and it showed me amazing results that I never got. 5.0GHz and high Voltage increase. I was amazed and wondered why I can't achieve these.

Whenever I pass 4.2GHz in Windows 10 it fails to boot or boots and BS and 4.5GHz in Windows 7, I managed to keep it at 4.5 but sometimes it BS from hours of gaming at a time (might've been the GPU too) and whenver I pass +0.150 Voltage I doesn't boot and BIOS auto resets.

Since I got my Hyper 212 I never had temp issues + I tweaked my case pretty fine, no issues on any temps anyhow.

Rig:

Gigabyte 990FXA UD3 (or something similiar)

8 gigs of RAM at 1334 MHz

FX 6300

R9 270X

650W Power Supply

Also, any reason why OC on the GPU causes BS after 1-2 hours into gaming, temps do reach ~70*C at times but don't usually surpass that (I don't go further than 1150MHz core clock, 1500MHz memory clock and +20% power consumption)

Any sort of crashing or problems caused by overclocking is not limited to temperatures alone. It is not uncommon for a component to be well within it's thermal limits, but still be unstable from an overclock. The overclock could fail because the RAM can't handle the additional speed the CPU is running at, the voltage not being adequate enough for the overclock, or it could be that the chip itself just isn't stable at that specific speed.
