BF4 - Poor performance

Jackbe

Hi guys,

I preordered BF4 and the first time I played it I noticed that the performance wasn't that good. I have 2 GTX 670s in SLI and I get about 100 FPS on ultra, which is ok, but some people claim they get better performance on BF4 than they did on BF3, which is definitely not the case for me. I also get frame drops to about 50 FPS at times, which is awful.

I have started playing the game on low settings so I get 120+ FPS all the time (I use a 144Hz monitor) and while this fixes the performance issues, the game looks like a cartoon... It's terrible

I am running windows 7 and have the latest drivers from Nvidia. I have heard that BF4 benefits from windows 8 quite a lot due to direct x implementation, but I don't want to 'upgrade' to windows 8 unless it will be a game changer.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

That's what I'm hoping.

If you can wait, I'd wait a few weeks for the game to be properly optimised. It's not necessarily dice's fault, Nvidia and AMD need to optimise their drivers properly (although there are some pretty big issues with net code at the moment)
