So my mobo (Maximus IX Hero) only has 1 USB2.0 header so I had to buy an NZXT Internal USB Hub which comes with 3 USB2.0 headers.

In planning on connecting my H115i USB Cable (for Corsair Link) and my 2 USB2.0 front panel ports.

I was wondering if the hub will likely cause any performance differences, instability, or slowdowns with the AIO itself/Corsair Link and the USB2.0 front panel ports compared to if they were connected directly into the mobo.

There's no practical difference where you connect it. Or at least it shouldn't.

If it's an actual USB Hub it may. But if it's simply a USB 2.0 header to some Type A ports, then no.

This is what it looks like: https://www.nzxt.com/products/internal-usb-hub

It's powered via molex and it's connected to the mobo through a USB2.0 header.

Ah, so it's a hub hub.

No, it shouldn't. The Corsair Link is just for providing data and does not need power. And what data it does manage is likely very small.

So the only thing that may be affected speed-wise is the USB2.0 front panel ports. But regardless, it should basically be unnoticeable though?

Yes, the impact is going to be tiny. And I think it only matters if you're actively using the Corsair Link app and doing stuff.

Oh ok thanks. I mean I'm only going to be using the Corsair App to set fan curves and change the LED once in a while. I mean it doesn't need to be running in the background for the settings to save right?

Ok cool. And I mean even if I did just have it running, I wouldn't likely notice a performance impact anyways I guess since you said it was very small, if anything.

Oh and one more question, I have a speaker and headphone jack on my front panel along with 2 USB 3.0 ports and 2 USB 2.0 ports. Will the USB3.0 cable power all of those besides the 2 USB 2.0 ports?

If it's a passive hub, I'm not confident it'll power anything more than peripherals if they're all populated.

Like I mean I'm plugging in the USB3.0 cable that comes in my case directly into the motherboard header.

They'll get power sure, but you just have to be careful with how many things you plug in.

Ok, so would that USB3.0 cable power the microphone and speaker jack on the front panel of my case as well (Enthoo Luxe)? Or is there like an HD Audio cable that does that?

Most front panel audio jacks use the HD Audio header.
