Cable Extensions Need help

Go to solution Solved by Oshino Shinobu,

EPS is the cable used for CPU power and PCIe is used for Graphics Card power.

Extensions can work with any PSU as they're just straight 1-1 pinned. Full custom cables can look cleaner as there's not as much bulk and the PSU end is sleeved as well. You need to make sure the kit is compatible with your PSU if you're buying them ready made, as PSUs are not pinned 1-1, so wires will cross.

Yes, a 6 pin PCIe extension can plug into the 6+2 cable, just leave the +2 connector unplugged.

The cables you must have are 24pin, 8/4+4pin for CPU and PCIe cables for the GPU. The system can run with that, but you may want to consider more cables for things like SATA power and molex (if you use Molex powered devices)

What the difference between EPS and PCI-E?

Do extensions have a voltage difference or should I get full PSU cables? (Doing custom cables trying to anyways)

I have a MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X, And a HX850i  PSU, I want to know if I buy a 6 pin extension can I connect it to The 6+2 PSU cable? ( MSI GTX 1080 has a 8 pin and 6 Pin)

if i do get extensions what cables do I need I know I need 24 atx Pin, 8 pin, 6pin( if I can do it)

and a 8 pin for mobo
