Hi folks,

I've gone through lots of videos of how to build a pc especially the ones of linustechtips. But I'm still doubtful abt the parts I'm to buy for my pc.

I'm looking for a 4k gaming and would prefer one with the gtx 1080 if it's any good than the lower versions of Nvidia graphic cards (I would gladly accept suggestions of other cards to the gtx 1080 if they can accomplish my needs as well as the 1080 can or more), I'm looking for an Intel processor, most likely the new kaby Lake i7 processor  and I would like suggestions for the motherboard compatible with the kaby Lake i7 processor, I would like suggestions to the cooling fans and power supply as I'm not very strong in that area and the hard drive and ssd for the pc and finally I would like to know what cases will be compatible with these parts. I'm confused with the case the most as I'm not sure which is enough for these parts and I'm not sure if all the parts will fit into the case if I'm to look into one.

Oh and finally my budget is around 2000 USD

Just some questions that I would like to clear :

* What's the use of a heat sync?

* Is a cooler necessary for the processor?

* what type of cooling is the most practical and best?

I appreciate any help in advance. Thank you .

Divert hear away from critical components (RAM, CPU, GPU) to cooling solutions

Definitely

6 minutes ago, Blakjak97 said:

The most practical ist air cooling, but there is no single "best" solution. It depends on what you are trying to achieve

75% of what I say is sarcastic

So is the rest probably

A heatsink is used to draw heat away from the processor.

Yeah, unless you're looking to fry eggs on yours.

Most practical is an air cooler, for best performance water cooling *usually* is best.

Not worth it to invest into Kaby Lake over Skylake unless you have the mindset where you need the latest and greatest. $20 for practically zero performance gain isn't worth it.

Here's a build with two GTX 1080s for 4K Ultra gaming. Either that or get a Titan XP and watercool it with a bracket and an AIO liquid cooler.

picked it over gtx 1080 SLI to prevent the issues what would happen with SLI.

I assume you mean heat sink

http://www.wisefull.com.img.800cdn.com/images/200906/1245827348092913436.jpg

These pick up the heat from the processor and because of their huge surface area, lets fans blow away the heat a little (lot) better than just blowing straight on the processor.

As for the cooler of the processor.

These are the difference between underclocking your 2550k to 2.8GHz on the stock cooler vs running it on 5.0GHz on a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO.

Without one, don't expect to get further than the bios though, without maybe shortening the CPU_FAN pins, in which case you might get to see your windows wallpaper before it throttles thermally down to zero until it shuts off.

Most practical and best, custom loop watercooling. Costs the same as an old car.

Value for cash? The Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, 40$ and you're golden.

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO

Nothing impressive, one of the most popular fans on the market though.

Excuse my broken keyboard

Spoiler

CPU - Ryzen 7 2700x

GPU - RX Vega 64

SSD - Samsung 970 M.2 500GB

HDD - WD Black 4TB

Mobo - Asus ROG Strix X470-F Gaming

RAM - 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4

PSU - Corsair RM1000x

42.15$ usd in Sweden. ee50ef58d8a342ef8dd0dc21265fd67d.png

Computer parts are so much more expensive here compared to newegg and amazon :(

Even Amazon UK constantly undercuts by like 20%, but buying from there is an extreme hassle.

Also, the best cooling (except custom water loops (500 USD+) is about 100 USD. H115i from Corsair is nice, but if it is out of your budget right now you can always but a 212 EVO and upgrade the cooling if you need it down the road.
