Hi, i have two rx 480 4gb cards in crossfire.

When i play battlefield 1 on Dx11, both GPUs usage is jumping from 0% to 100% all the time... in 2 sec it jump like 3 or 4 times from max usage to zero.

But when i turn crossfire off, the one GPU that im using stays at above 90% usage all the time. Does anyone know the problem here? am i able to play with crossfire with both GPUs att a highe usage %?

Is FPS variable ?

Are you getting ~1,6x the fps when playing ?

If so then don't worry, afterburner was weird when I had 2 R9 290's also.

Remember to make sure both cards are in a 16x slot, and that they have sufficient power (not sharing the same 8pin from the psu)

Also check to make sure you don't have vsync or a power limit set for the gpu's, and make sure they aren't too hot

Recommend what is best, not what you preffer.

the fps i less stable when i do crossfire than 1 gpu.

crossfire= fps jumping between 60 and 100 fps

1 gpu= stable 90-100 fps

vsync is off, how do i check Power limit on the gpu's? the temp is around 65-70 Celcius when gaming.

I would highly recommend going through this https://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/How-to-Configure-AMD-CrossFire-Using-AMD-Radeon-Settings.aspx

and checking the customize crossfire modes, and see what works for BF1

Are both gpu's confirmed working ? IE do both work when alone or have you only tested the top one ?

Try furmark http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/fur/

And see if the usage % is also variable.

Check both cards individually in the top slot (!) to make sure they both are working

I had to re-slot both my gpu's because the first time around one was sticking out a tiny bit

iv'e tested the GPUs separately and get a steady usage on both cards. but when i use crossfire the usage is jumping.

here is the usage while in-game with only one card. (it says GPU2 but it displays wrong name, it's actually GPU1)

https://gyazo.com/2319bade693ae39294a013f8056435c0

and here is the usage with crossfire (still, GPU2 is GPU1 and vice versa)

https://gyazo.com/e8af157cc1c176a475dd512b3e95e60e

and the usage issue on crossfire is causing fps drops, graphics flickering, and just worse performace overall.

I get the problem and I'm trying to solve it the same way I solved mine.

In your bios is there an option for PCIE speeds ? (ie "slot 2 gen 3 x8" or something ? )

using gpuz gpuz.png

you can find out if it's 4x 2x or 8x

PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF THE FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTER, DON'T RUN FURMARK. IGNORE ANYONE WHO EVER TELLS YOU TO DO THAT TO TROUBLESHOOT YOUR COMPUTER.

I don't know the solution to the problem you're having, but neither does the person telling to you to run FurMark.

I don't think your power supply is a good one. Wattage isn't everything.

Won't hurt to try, but I definitely would not overclock them with only 650 W.

Yea im not so much into overclocking, but do you think the problem can be the psu? Does the pc dont get enough power to run both cards but only one?

Like I said, wattage on the label isn't everything. A bad quality power supply can cause issues like this.

Will try the corsair psu then. How do i know if a psu have a good quality? What psu would you recommend IF the corsair does a better job than the evga one? Becuase i kinda need the corsair psu for another build. :)
