Surprisingly, it's not the trackpad itself.  It's the drivers.  Although trackpads aren't always the best for gaming, overall.  Many people have used different operating systems and drivers while utilizing the same hardware and have found out, MOST of the time the drivers interface with the OS were the biggest problem.  Some have even noted machine trackpads like the Dell 10v worked amazingly in OSX, but were crap with Windows.  There are a few laptop companies that provide a trackball, but very few and it's usually a very customized build.  In summary, if you're having issues with the trackpad, it is most likely the platform OS that is the problem.
