speaker stands

So I am playing with the idea of making some 20cm high speaker stands. Right now I just use some angled foam stands.

I don't know if there is some things I should watch out for, when making stands, hence the thread.

Avoid resonance. i.e. no hollow voids inside the stand. The heavier the better. Use blue-tac to hold down the speaker and stop vibration.

I have no idea what blue-tack is, it kinda looks like sugru or what Danes call "elefantsnot". I was thinking about spikes or something like this

yeah that is a no go, they would not fit in my room and when I get space they would have to be insanely tall

okay it is "elefantsnot" then, does that really help? I am guessing it would be between the table and the stand and maybe between the speakers and the stand?

Also what would be best wood cabinet filled with something or a metal cabinet filled with something?

Both. I'm not sure whether wood or metal would be better. Wood might look better!

yeah wood would most likely look better. I am guessing I would have to fill them with sand or cement

if its not sturdy or has a void dont attach the speaker to the stand as it will then just vibrate the stand. Maybe a idea to use the foam you said you currently have.

I cannot angle the speakers enough with them.

oh okay, I have these pads https://www.thomann.de/dk/the_takustik_isopad_7.htm I am guessing the top layer would be enough

oh I have the Monitor audio bronze 2.
