Hi all,

I am kinda in love with the Sennheiser 350se headset , and I will run it direct from my motherboard, the MSI Z97 gaming . I absolutely need an inline amp to power these headsets, my question is do I need a amp+dac unit? Or just an inline amp like this one

I do need to keep the sound clean, but just want simple stereo thru the headset.

Cheers for the help.

because I tried a set before, direct from the motherboard to the headset and they were not fully powered.

because they had hardly any volume, it sounded very weak etc.

I guess the headset may have been defective or something, but I have seen references to the PC350se being a 150ohm headset and therefore requiring an amp, my question is do I need a amp+dac?

I only want to run clean stereo sound, no surround etc.

Quote for fast response.

Did you verify that your onboard audio was in headphone mode? Did you try rear audio ports?

I cant recall setting as headphone mode, but can see tonight what its set at etc.

I only use rear ports, direct off the motherboard etc for audio.
