So for a custom case build project I need to figure out how to install my power button. I have one that I took out of an old Dell Optiflex but wanted to see if it would be possible to adapt it to work with a modern motherboard (Gigabyte G5 z97x to be specific) or if should I just buy a cheap one online. I don't care about having the LEDs work, the power button is my only priority.

Doubt it. That doesn't look like a standard power button switch header. If you can do some electrical stuff, you might be able to merge the pins, assuming that the layout is similar to a modern header. Otherwise no, I don't think that's possible, go ahead and buy one I guess.

/Just find the ground and positive wires, and use a 2 pin header

You should see if you can't make a push button ignition from a car or something work, that'd be so sick
