Hello!

I'll migrate Windows from a HDD to a SSD and I was just wondering if anyone knows a free and reliable Windows 10 migration program? I've tried AOMEI's free partition assistent but it didn't work since the HDD is a GPT and the free version can only handle MBR discs. Any suggestions on programs or how to do it?

I tried doing this a few weeks ago on my dad's PC. Nothing worked.

Personally, I've always hated cloning programs. It's just easier for me to reinstall Windows and download all of my programs again.

Sorry to give you that news, but I tried nearly all of the free alternatives, to no avail. The SSD that I got him is sitting in my drawer.

Though if I download Windows and everything again, will I have to buy a new key?

no, you won't. When you go to install Windows 10, just click "I don't have my product key" because Windows 10 saves the product key somewhere in the BIOS. When the install is complete, Windows 10 will be activated.
