Currently I have a Zotac gtx 1080 Amp extreme and planning on buying another gtx 1080 to SLI. But instead of the same card I was thinking of a hybrid card such as EVGA FTW hybrid, since the gap between the two graphic cards is too small, the heat output would prove to be very annoying since the first card's fans would probably fail to perform its best, that is where the hybrid card kicks in.

So I was thinking, I'm planning on 1440p@165hz and a flexible bridge just would not do... so I'm looking at this MSI HB bridge since my motherboard is also MSI's. But the two cards have different sizes and the bridge looks to be fixed on two cards with the same size.

Anyone knows if the SLI HB bridge would work or not with 2 different sized cards?

Also a EVGA 850W Gold PSU should be enough for x2 gtx 1080 + core i7-6700k, right?

@Valhari The SLI bridge should be compatible with both cards. And yes, that PSU should be sufficient for 2 GTX 1080s in SLI with an i7-6700K. :)

The bridge is compatible with both cards as it is a standardized component from NVIDIA, and the fingers are also in the same location, because of the aforementioned standardization(it maintains compatibility between two different cards).

Should I SLI 2 different brands of graphic cards? My friend says the power output would prove to be a trouble. But as stated above, I'm afraid of heat output as well.

How would power output be trouble? If you're going with a hybrid design along with a normal aftermarket air cooled design, the hybrid's going to have most of its heat going into the liquid, and consequently the radiator.

He said the two cards have different power consumption, therefor would break something?

No. The power supply is delivering amperage on 12V rails. This applies to the CPU, graphics cards, desktop hard drives, and even some SSDs that require a lot of power. Having components drawing different amounts of power will do nothing wrong. It just means the power supply is having to work less hard, and you will pull less power overall.

And besides, what if you play a game that only utilizes one card, and not the other? Or you play a game that uses them unequally? Using that logic, something would break, but nothing does break. Having varying loads of power draw will not hurt anything.

Thanks for your answer, it helps a lot to know you won't mess up so much money.
