Is this a good overclock for a i5 4690K?

Hi,

I have an i5 4690K on an Asus H81-Gamer (yeah, I know it's a h81, not a z97, I built this pc back when I knew literally nothing about computers and bought it for the looks). I got an overclock on 1.276 volts and 4.6ghz. I'm using a hyper 212 evo with an nf-f12 on it with an exhaust just behind it. Temps are on the photo and cpuz are on the photo. This was when I was aida64 stressing it. It was relatively quiet whilst stressing. I could hear it however it was easily damped by ambient noise.

Is this a good overclock?

Cheers.

OC is fine and quite good, curious to how you actually overclocked on a H81 board though

Bios,

Advanced mode,

AI tweaker

Cpu core ratio unlock thingy

Change from 35 to 46

Not afraid the motherboard won't be able to deliver enough power and damage the chip?

Didn't think about that...

If I lower the voltage will that stop this from happening?

Not really.. I wouldn't overclock on a non Z170 board because most manufacturers don't use that good quality components on other chipset boards. I actually fried a B85 board while just pushing 100Mhz extra to my 4690k for 4.0Ghz so...

Yet again, using a cx750m from corsair probably isn't the best idea either...

I wouldn't be too worried about the PSU unless you're pushing 150% current to the CPU or 1.5 volts Vcore or something

Fair point, however a psu like this with a 1100mhz overclock on a h81 board probably isn't the best idea,

Yeah, best stay at stock. However, I may be completely wrong and was too cautious so maybe it's all fine but eh

I'll put it down a bit to like 4.2ghz... Just to be safe.

Well, to be honest. If you break the board, it's a good excuse to buy a new one

But couldn't it take the cpu with it if the board dies?

Yeah, it can, but doesn't mean it will
